GENERAL GWIB QUESTIONS

Will Golden Women in Business help me grow my business, find leads, or get clients?

Our primary mission is to empower, connect and support members in building relationships within the Golden community. We hope this will inspire success both professionally and personally.

However, we are not a leads group or just a business networking group. We want our members to support each other. We’re not just there so women can swap business cards, we want them to forge genuine connections.  

I’m seeking a group to help me understand business’ needs in Golden or to help me gather Golden market data, is this what Golden Women in Business provides?

Golden Women in Business exists to help professional women and businesswomen in Golden connect to each other. If you’re looking for resources that will give you specific insight into what businesses in Golden need, here are some places to go:

What are the requirements to join Golden Women in Business?

To be a member of GWiB you need to identify as a woman and live or work* in Golden, including owning a business in Golden.

*Note: Those who have clients or sell items in Golden are not the same as working in Golden. You need to be physically located in Golden, either with a residence or business premises, or working in an office in Golden.   

If you are unsure about this requirement, please contact us with your reasoning and we’ll discuss your potential membership at our next board meeting. 

Can I see who is part of the group now?

Yes, you can see who is part of the Facebook group and in the member directory on the website.

I’m a current member, but I’m moving out of Golden, can I stay a GWiB member? 

Yes, we are happy to keep our legacy members part of the group.

How much does a Golden Women in Business membership cost? 

Our closed Facebook group is free to join. Membership is only $125 per year and allows you to attend and host events as well as market on our Facebook group and website member directory.

Directory questions

I just updated my directory information. How long will it take for it to populate?

The data is synced 1x/day, so it may take up to 24 hours for it to sync. If your new information isn’t populating after 24 hours, please contact Ursula.

How can I update information/the logo in the directory?

Log into your account (GWiB website > “Log in” right lower corner) and under Profile select “Edit your profile”. To update your logo/image, click on the logo/image circle and select “Click on profile image to update”. Don’t forget to scroll down and click the “update profile” button after you are done. Membership questions

Am I a “Diamond member”?

If you have paid the annual membership fee of $125, then you are a “Diamond Member”. The GWiB board decided in the spring of 2023 to add this name to avoid confusion when people referred to being a paying GWiB member in contrast to non-paying Facebook Group members (which is free).

I have two businesses, do I have to pay the membership fee for both?

No. GWiB membership is granted per person, not per business. So if you have two businesses you would like to get a listing for, please contact Ursula to get a special coupon code for the 2nd. listing. The way the system works, you’ll need to register your 2nd business under a different email though.

I want to change my payment method

Your membership runs on an automatic subscription method. To change the payment method, please log into your account (GWiB website > “Log in” right lower corner) and under Billing select “Update credit card”.

I would like to cancel my membership

The duration of the membership is 12 months, and the fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable. The fee will auto-renew after 12 months. One week prior to the auto-renewal of your annual membership, you will receive an email informing you of the auto-renewal so that you have a chance to cancel it. To cancel your subscription, log into your account (GWiB website > “Log in” right lower corner) and under Billing select “view or cancel plans”. See video above!
